The Latest SignalCalc 900 v3.1 Software Adds New Measurements and Enhancements – Elevating your Test and Measurement Performance
This version brings Multi-Function Bridge/ICP Card Conditioning Support to the 900 Series, as well as an API, which allows a user to write their own software to data from the 900 Series hardware’s input channels (and write data to the 900 Series output channels) in real-time and gap free. Scope Mode and Sine Harmonic Control (Harmonic Distortion Control for Sine Dwells) are also included.

New Measurements
Multi-Function Bridge/ICP Card Conditioning Support
The DP945 Multi-Function hardware is supported in this release of SignalCalc 900. This includes the ability to configure and use bridge channels (full/half/quarter bridge strain gauges, bridge sensors) as well as ICP/voltage channels available on the DP945 card.
The software includes a streamlined Bridge Calibration module which can be run automatically on test Init or manually during test setup; which performs offset nulling (bridge balancing) and shunt calibration of all bridge sensors (strain gauges) simultaneously. The DP990 calibration software also now supports the calibration of the DP945 cards with an external DMM.
DP900 API
The 900 Series software/hardware now includes an API, which allows a user to write their own software to data from the 900 Series hardware’s input channels (and write data to the 900 Series output channels) in realtime and gap free. The DP900 API is separate from the REST Interface. While the REST interface allows control of the 900 Series software (Test controls, transferring individual frames of time/frequency domain data, etc.) the DP900 API is focused on reading/writing time domain samples to/from the 900 Series Hardware’s input/output channels.
The DP900 API allows users to take advantage of many of the 900 Series’ platform features for seamless integration with your code. For example, several DP912 Hardware units can be seamlessly configured to run a 200+ channel test – with all channels synchronized (to within 0.5deg @ 40kHz). The code required to execute such a test is identical to the code required to run a single chassis test.
Scope Mode
The ability to view time domain signals independent of the primary analyzer/controller measurement has been added to SignalCalc 900. A “Scope” measurement can now be added to any other measurement. This can be used to perform a “tap test” on your sensors before starting a test.
Sine Harmonic Control (Harmonic Distortion Control for Sine Dwells)
Sine Harmonic Control is a specialized shaker control module to produce a low-distortion constant frequency sine dwell on a hydraulic shaker. Hydraulic shakers typically produce harmonic distortion when driven with a pure-sine drive voltage; and Sine Harmonic Control counteracts this distortion. Sine Harmonic Control can also control multiple harmonically related frequencies in both amplitude and phase.
New Features and Enhancements
Thermal Couple Support
The ability to configure and use external thermal couple signal conditioning boxes (VTI EX 1401 hardware) has been added to the 900 Series software. Configuration and usage of the thermal couple boxes is integrated into the 900 Series software, and measured thermal couple data can be saved to a time history file with the Recorder measurement.
Improvements to Time History Viewer
Significant improvements have been made to the Time History Viewer; particularly when viewing large time histories with many channels displayed. In addition, the ability to change units on any channel in the time history (including integration/differentiation) within the Time History Viewer has been added.
REST Interface (automation) commands added
Additional commands have been added to the REST interface. These include the ability to:
• Get all available signals for transfer (all signals for which data can be requested through the interface)
• The ability to select specific saves in Review mode, and to ascertain the value of $variables from that save (or from a live test being run)
• The ability to set Control and Limit profiles for Sine or Random tests
• The ability to set the Run Schedule for Random, Sine, Shock/SRS tests.
